1 . . . . many of them will be false prophets, and will teach divers ways and doctrines of perdition: but these will become sons of perdition. 3. And then YHVH will come unto my faithful ones who hunger and thirst and are afflicted and purify their souls in this life; and he will judge the sons of lawlessness.

  1. And furthermore YHVH said: Let us go into the mountain: Let us pray.. And going with him, we, the twelve disciples, begged that he would show us one of our brethren, the righteous who are gone forth out of the world, in order that we might see of what manner of form they are, and having taken courage, might also encourage the men who hear us.

  2. And as we prayed, suddenly there appeared two men standing before YHVH towards the East, on whom we were not able to look; 7, for there came forth from their countenance a ray as of the sun, and their raiment was shining, such as eye of man never saw; for no mouth is able to express or heart to conceive the glory with which they were endued, and the beauty of their appearance. 8. And as we looked upon them, we were astounded; for their bodies were whiter than any snow and ruddier than any rose; 9, and the red thereof was mingled with the white, and I am utterly unable to express their beauty; 10, for their hair was curly and bright and seemly both on their face and shoulders, as it were a wreath woven of spikenard and divers-coloured flowers, or like a rainbow in the sky, such was their seemliness.

  3. Seeing therefore their beauty we became astounded at them, since they appeared suddenly. 12. And I approached YHVH and said: Who are these? 13. He saith to me: These are your brethren the righteous, whose forms ye desired to see. 14. And I said to him: And where are all the righteous ones and what is the aeon in which they are and have this glory?

  4. And YHVH showed me a very great country outside of this world, exceeding bright with light, and the air there lighted with the rays of the sun, and the earth itself blooming with unfading flowers and full of spices and plants, fair-flowering and incorruptible and bearing blessed fruit. 16. And so great was the perfume that it was borne thence even unto us. 17. And the dwellers in that place were clad in the raiment of shining angels and their raiment was like unto their country; and angels hovered about them there. 18. And the glory of the dwellers there was equal, and with one voice they sang praises alternately to YHVH Elohim, rejoicing in that place. 19. YHVH saith to us: This is the place of your high-priests, the righteous men.

  5. And over against that place I saw another, squalid, and it was the place of punishment; and those who were punished there and the punishing angels had their raiment dark like the air of the place.

  6. And there were certain there hanging by the tongue: and these were the blasphemers of the way of righteousness; and under them lay fire, burning and punishing them. 22. And there was a great lake, full of flaming mire, in which were certain men that pervert righteousness, and tormenting angels afflicted them.

  7. And there were also others, women, hanged by their hair over that mire that bubbled up: and these were they who adorned themselves for adultery; and the men who mingled with them in the defilement of adultery, were hanging by the feet and their heads in that mire. And I said: I did not believe that I should come into this place.

  8. And I saw the murderers and those who conspired with them, cast into a certain strait place, full of evil snakes, and smitten by those beasts, and thus turning to and fro in that punishment; and worms, as it were clouds of darkness, afflicted them. And the souls of the murdered stood and looked upon the punishment of those murderers and said: O YHVH, thy judgment is just.

  9. And near that place I saw another strait place into which the gore and the filth of those who were being punished ran down and became there as it were a lake: and there sat women having the gore up to their necks, and over against them sat many children who were born to them out of due time, crying; and there came forth from them sparks of fire and smote the women in the eyes: and these were the accursed who conceived and caused abortion.

  10. And other men and women were burning up to the middle and were cast into a dark place and were beaten by evil spirits, and their inwards were eaten by restless worms: and these were they who persecuted the righteous and delivered them up.

  11. And near those there were again women and men gnawing their own lips, and being punished and receiving a red-hot iron in their eyes: and these were they who blasphemed and slandered the way of righteousness.

  12. And over against these again other men and women gnawing their tongues and having flaming fire in their mouths: and these were the false witnesses.

  13. And in a certain other place there were pebbles sharper than swords or any spit, red-hot, and women and men in tattered and filthy raiment rolled about on them in punishment: and these were the rich who trusted in their riches and had no pity for orphans and widows, and despised the commandment of YHVH.

  14. And in another great lake, full of pitch and blood and mire bubbling up, there stood men and women up to their knees: and these were the usurers and those who take interest on interest.

  15. And other men and women were being hurled down from a great cliff and reached the bottom, and again were driven by those who were set over them to climb up upon the cliff, and thence were hurled down again, and had no rest from this punishment: and these were they who defiled their bodies acting as women; and the women who were with them were those who lay with one another as a man with a woman.

  16. And alongside of that cliff there was a place full of much fire, and there stood men who with their own hands had made for themselves carven images instead of YHVH. And alongside of these were other men and women, having rods and striking each other and never ceasing from such punishment.

  17. And others again near them, women and men, burning and turning themselves and roasting: and these were they that leaving the way of YHVH

  1. CLEMENS ALEXANDRINUS, Eclog. 48. For instance, Peter in the Apocalypse says that the children who are born out of due time shall be of the better part: and that these are delivered over to a care-taking angel that they may attain a share of knowledge and gain the better abode [after suffering what they would have suffered if they had been in the body: but the others shall merely obtain salvation as injured beings to whom mercy is shown, and remain without punishment, receiving this as a reward].*

  2. CLEM. ALEX. Eclog. 49. But the milk of the women running down from their breasts and congealing shall engender small flesh eating beasts: and these run up upon them and devour them.

  3. MACARIUS MAGNES, Apocritica iv., 6 cf. 16. The earth, it (sc. the Apoc. of Peter) says, “shall present all men before God at the day of judgment, being itself also to be judged, with the heaven also which encompasses it.”

  4. CLEM. ALEX. Eclog. 41. The scripture says that infants that have been exposed are delivered to a care-taking angel, by whom they are educated and so grow up, and they will be, it says, as the faithful of a hundred years old are here.

  5. METHODIUS, Conviv. ii., 6. Whence also we have received in divinely-inspired scriptures that untimely births are delivered to care-taking angels, even if they are the offspring of adultery.

Notes : Clement of Alexandria appears to have considered the Apocalypse of Peter to be holy scripture. Eusebius, Historia Ecclesiae (VI.14.1), describes a lost work of Clement’s, the Hypotyposes (Outlines), that gave “abridged accounts of all the canonical Scriptures, not even omitting those that are disputed, I mean the book of Jude and the other general epistles. Also the Epistle of Barnabas and that called the Revelation of Peter.”[11] So the work must have existed in the first half of the 2nd century.[12] Although the numerous references to it attest that it was once in wide circulation, the Apocalypse of Peter was ultimately not accepted into the Christian canon.

Introduction

We have not a pure and complete text of this book, which ranked next in popularity and probably also in date to the Canonical Apocalypse of St. John.

We have, first, certain quotations made by writers of the first four centuries.

Next, a fragment in Greek, called the Akhmim fragment, found with the Passion-fragment of the Gospel of Peter in a manuscript known as the Gizeh MS. (discovered in a tomb) now at Cairo. This is undoubtedly drawn from the Apocalypse of Peter: but my present belief is that, like the Passion fragment (see p. 90), it is part of the Gospel of Peter, which was a slightly later book than the Apocalypse and quoted it almost in extenso. There is also in the Bodleian Library a mutilated leaf of a very tiny Greek MS. of the fifth century which supplies a few lines of what I take to be the original Greek text.

Thirdly, an Ethiopic version contained in one of the numerous forms of the books of Clement, a writing current in Arabic and Ethiopic purporting to contain revelations of the history of the world from the Creation, of the last times, and of guidance for the churches -dictated by Peter to Clement. The version of the Apocalypse contained in this has some extraneous matter at the beginning and the end; but, as I have tried to show in a series of articles in the Journal of Theological Studies (1910-11) and the Church Quarterly Review (1915), it affords the best general idea of the contents of the whole book which we have. The second book of the Sibylline Oracles contains (in Greek hexameters) a paraphrase of a great part of the Apocalypse: and its influence can be traced in many early writings -the Acts of Thomas (55-57), the Martyrdom of Perpetua, the so-called Second Epistle of Clement, and, as I think, the Shepherd of Hermas: as well as in the Apocalypse of Paul and many later visions.

The length of the book is given in the Stichometry of Nicephorus as 300 lines and in that of the Codex Claromontanus (D of the Epistle) as 270: the latter is a Latin list of the Biblical books; already cited for the Acts of Paul.

There is no mention of it in the Gelasian Decree, which is curious. At one time it was popular in Rome for the Muratorian Canon mentions it (late in the second century?) along with the Apocalypse of John though it adds, that ‘some will not have it read in the church.’ The fifth-century church historian Sozomen (vii. 19) says that to his knowledge it was still read annually in some churches in Palestine on Good Friday.

A translation of the ancient quotations shall be given first.

Texts of the Apocalypse of Peter

A.

  1. From Clement of Alexandria’s so-called Prophetical Extracts, a series of detached sentences excerpted from some larger work, generally supposed to be his Hypotyposes or Outlines:

a. (41.1) The Scripture saith that the children which have been exposed (by their parents) are delivered to a care-taking angel by whom they are educated, and made to grow up, and they shall be, it saith, as the faithful of an hundred years old are here (in this life). b. (41. 2) Wherefore also Peter in the Apocalypse saith: And a flash (lightning) of fire leaping from those children and smiting the eyes of the women.

  1. Ibid. (48 . 1 ) The providence of God doth not light upon them only that are in the flesh. For example, Peter in the Apocalypse saith that the children born out of due time (abortively) that would have been of the better part (i. e. would have been saved if they had lived) -these are delivered to a care-taking angel, that they may partake of knowledge and obtain the better abode, having suffered what they would have suffered had they been in the body. But the others (i.e. those who would not have been saved, had they lived) shall only obtain salvation, as beings that have been injured and had mercy shown to them, and shall continue without torment, receiving that as a reward.

But the milk of the mothers, flowing from their breasts and congealing, saith Peter in the Apocalypse, shall engender small beasts (snakes) devouring the flesh, and these running upon them devour them: teaching that the torments come to pass because of the sins (correspond to the sins).

  1. From the Symposium (ii.6) of Methodius of Olympus (third century). He does not name his source. Whence also we have received in inspired writings that children born untimely -even if they be the offspring of adultery- are delivered to care-taking angels. For if they had come into being contrary to the will and ordinance of that blessed nature of God, how could they have been delivered to angels to be nourished up in all repose and tranquillity? And how could they have confidently summoned their parents before the judgement seat of Christ to accuse them? saying: Thou, O Lord, didst not begrudge us this light that is common to all, but these exposed us to death, contemning thy commandment.

The word rendered care-taking in these passages is a very rare one- [temelouchos, Gr.]: so rare that it was mistaken by later readers for the proper name of an angel, and we find an angel Temeluchus in Paul, John, and elsewhere. A similar case is that of the word Tartaruchus, keeper of hell, which is applied to angels in our Apocalypse, and is also taken in the Ethiopic version, in Paul, and in other writings, to be a proper name.

  1. From the Apocritica of Macarius Magnes (fourth century) of whom we know little. His book consists of extracts from a heathen opponent’s attack on Christianity (Porphyry and Hieroclcs are named as possible authors of it) and his own answers. The heathen writer says (iv. 6, 7):

And by way of superfluity let this also be cited which is said in the Apocalypse of Peter. He introduces the Heaven, to be judged along with the earth, thus: The earth, he says, shall present all men to God to be judged in the day of judgement being itself also to be judged along with the heaven that encompasseth it.

  1. Ibid. And this again he says, which is a statement full of impiety: And every power of heaven shall be melted, and the heaven shall be rolled up like a book, and all the stars shall fall like leaves from the vine, and as the leaves from the fig-tree.

This very nearly coincides with Isa. xxxiv.4, and does not occur in our other texts of the Apocalypse.

  1. In an old Latin homily on the Ten Virgins found and published by Dom Wilmart (Bulletin d’anc. litt. et d’arche’ol. chre’t.) is this sentence:

The closed door is the river of fire by which the ungodly shall be kept out of the kingdom of God, as is written in Daniel and in Peter, in his Apocalypse…. That company of the foolish also shall arise and find the door shut, that is, the fiery river set against them.

The equivalent of all the above quotations is found in the Ethiopic text, with one exception, no. 5. The Akhmim text only contains Something like no. 1 b: one indication out of many that it is a shortened and, I would say, secondary text.

B.

THE AKHMIM FRAGMENT

I should prefer to call this Fragment II of the Gospel of Peter. It begins abruptly in a discourse of our Lord.

1 Many of them shall be false prophets, and shall teach ways and diverse doctrines of perdition. 2 And they shall become sons of perdition. 3 And then shall God come unto my faithful ones that hunger and thirst and are afflicted and prove their souls in this life, and shall judge the sons of iniquity.

4 And the Lord added and said: Let us go unto the mountain (and) pray. 5 And going with him, we the twelve disciples besought him that he would show us one of our righteous brethren that had departed out of the world, that we might see what manner of men they are in their form, and take courage, and encourage also the men that should hear us.

26 And hard by that place I saw another strait place wherein the discharge and the stench of them that were in torment ran down, and there was as it were a lake there. And there sat women up to their necks in that liquor, and over against them many children which were born out of due time sat crying: and from them went forth rays of fire and smote the women in the eyes: and these were they that conceived out of wedlock (?) and caused abortion.

27 And other men and women were being burned up to their middle and cast down in a dark place and scourged by evil spirits, and having their entrails devoured by worms that rested not. And these were they that had persecuted the righteous and delivered them up.

28 And near to them again were women and men gnawing their lips and in torment, and having iron heated in the fire set against their eyes. And these were they that did blaspheme and speak evil of the way of righteousness.

29 And over against these were yet others, men and women, gnawing their tongues and having flaming fire in their mouths. And these were the false witnesses.

30 And in another place were gravel-stones sharper than swords or any spit, heated with fire, and men and women clad in filthy rags rolled upon them in torment. [This is suggested by the LXX of two passages in Job: xli. 30, his bed is of sharp spits; viii. 17, on an heap of stones doth he rest, and shall live in the midst of gravel-stones.] And these were they that were rich and trusted in their riches, and had no pity upon orphans and widows but neglected the commandments of God.

31 And in another great lake full of foul matter (pus) and blood and boiling mire stood men and women up to their knees And these were they that lent money and demanded usury upon usury.

32 And other men and women being cast down from a great rock (precipice) fell (came) to the bottom, and again were driven by them that were set over them, to go up upon the rock, and thence were cast down to the bottom and had no rest from this torment. And these were they that did defile their bodies behaving as women: and the women that were with them were they that lay with one another as a man with a woman.

33 And beside that rock was a place full of much fire, and there stood men which with their own hands had made images for themselves instead of God, [And beside them other men and women] having rods of fire and smiting one another and never resting from this manner of torment….

34 And yet others near unto them, men and women, burning and turning themselves about and roasted as in a pan. And these were they that forsook the way of God.

THE BODLEIAN LEAF

It measures but 2 3/4 by 2 inches and has 13 lines of 8 to 10 letters on each side (Madan’s Summary Catalogue, No. 31810). The verso (second page) is difficult to read.

THE ETHIOPIC TEXT

The Second Coming of Christ and Resurrection of the Dead (which Christ revealed unto Peter) who died because of their sins, for that they kept not the commandment of God their creator.

And he (Peter) pondered thereon, that he might perceive the mystery of the Son of God, the merciful and lover of mercy.

And when the Lord was seated upon the Mount of Olives, his disciples came unto him.

And we besought and entreated him severally and prayed him, saying unto him: Declare unto us what are the signs of thy coming and of the end of the world, that we may perceive and mark the time of thy coming and instruct them that come after us, unto whom we preach the word of thy gospel, and whom we set over (in) thy church, that they when they hear it may take heed to themselves and mark the time of thy coming.

And our Lord answered us, saying: Take heed that no man deceive you, and that ye be not doubters and serve other gods. Many shall come in my name, saying: I am the Christ. Believe them not, neither draw near unto them. For the coming of the Son of God shall not be plain (i.e. foreseen); but as the lightning that shineth from the east unto the west, so will I come upon the clouds of heaven with a great host in my majesty; with my cross going before my face will I come in my majesty, shining sevenfold more than the sun will I come in my majesty with all my saints, mine angels (mine holy angels). And my Father shall set a crown upon mine head, that I may judge the quick and the dead and recompense every man according to his works.

And ye, take ye the likeness thereof (learn a parable) from the fig-tree: so soon as the shoot thereof is come forth and the twigs grown, the end of the world shall come.

And I, Peter, answered and said unto him: Interpret unto me concerning the fig-tree, whereby we shall perceive it; for throughout all its days doth the fig-tree send forth shoots, and every year it bringeth forth its fruit for its master. What then meaneth the parable of the fig-tree? We know it not.

And the Master (Lord) answered and said unto me: Understandest thou not that the fig-tree is the house of Israel? Even as a man that planted a fig-tree in his garden, and it brought forth no fruit. And he sought the fruit thereof many years and when he found it not, he said to the keeper of his garden: Root up this fig-tree that it make not our ground to be unfruitful. And the gardener said unto God: (Suffer us) to rid it of weeds and dig the ground round about it and water it. If then it bear not fruit, we will straightway remove its roots out of the garden and plant another in place of it. Hast thou not undErstood that the fig-tree is the house of Israel? Verily I say unto thee, when the twigs thereof have sprouted forth in the last days, then shall feigned Christs come and awake expectation saying: I am the Christ, that am now come into the world. And when they (Israel) shall perceive the wickedness of their deeds they shall turn away after them and deny him [whom our fathers did praise], even the first Christ whom they crucified and therein sinned a great sin. But this deceiver is not the Christ. [something is wrong here: the sense required is that Israel perceives the wickedness of antichrist and does not follow him.] And when they reject him he shall slay with the sword, and there shall be many martyrs. Then shall the twigs of the fig-tree, that is, the house of Israel, shoot forth: many shall become martyrs at his hand. Enoch and Elias shall be sent to teach them that this is the deceiver which must come into the world and do signs and wonders to deceive. And therefore shall they that die by his hand be martyrs, and shall be reckoned among the good and righteous martyrs who have pleased God in their life. [Hermas, Vision III.i.9, speaks of ‘those that have already been well-pleasing unto God and have suffered for the Name’s sake’.]

And he showed me in his right hand the souls of all men, And on the palm of his right hand the image of that which shall be accomplished at the last day: and how the righteous and the sinners shall be separated, and how they do that are upright in heart, and how the evil-doers shall be rooted out unto all eternity. We beheld how the sinners wept (weep) in great affliction and sorrow, until all that saw it with their eyes wept, whether righteous or angels, and he himself also.

And I asked him and said unto him: Lord, suffer me to speak thy word concerning the sinners: It were better for them if they had not been created. And the Saviour answered and said unto me: Peter, wherefore speakest thou thus, that not to have been created were better for them? Thou resistest God. Thou wouldest not have more compassion than he for his image: for he hath created them and brought them forth out of not being. Now because thou hast seen the lamentation which shall come upon the sinners in the last days, therefore is thine heart troubled; but I will show thee their works, whereby they have sinned against the Most High.

Behold now what shall come upon them in the last days, when the day of God and the day of the decision of the judgement of God cometh. From the east unto the west shall all the children of men be gathered together before my Father that liveth for ever. And he shall command hell to open its bars of adamant and give up all that is therein.

And the wild beasts and the fowls shall he command to restore all the flesh that they have devoured, because he willeth that men should appear; for nothing perisheth before God, and nothing is impossible with him, because all things are his.

For all things come to pass on the day of decision, on the day of judgement, at the word of God: and as all things were done when he created the world and commanded all that is therein and it was done -even so shall it be in the last days; for all things are possible with God. And therefore saith he in the scripture: [Ezek. xxxvii.] Son of man, prophesy upon the several bones and say unto the bones: bone unto bone in joints, sinew. nerves, flesh and skin and hair thereon [and soul and spirit].

And soul and spirit shall the great Uriel give them at the commandment of God; for him hath God set over the rising again of the dead at the day of judgement.

Behold and consider the corns of wheat that are sown in the earth. As things dry and without soul do men sow them in the earth: and they live again and bear fruit, and the earth restoreth them as a pledge entrusted unto it.

[And this that dieth, that is sown as seed in the earth, and shall become alive and be restored unto life, is man. Probably a gloss.]

How much more shall God raise up on the day of decision them that believe in him and are chosen of him, for whose sake he made the world? And all things shall the earth restore on the day of decision, for it also shall be judged with them, and the heaven with it.

And this shall come at the day of judgement upon them that have fallen away from faith in God and that have committed sin: Floods (cataracts) of fire shall be let loose; and darkness and obscurity shall come up and clothe and veil the whole world and the waters shall be changed and turned into coals of fire and all that is in them shall burn, and the sea shall become fire. Under the heaven shall be a sharp fire that cannot be quenched and floweth to fulfil the judgement of wrath. And the stars shall fly in pieces by flames of fire, as if they had not been created and the powers (firmaments) of the heaven shall pass away for lack of water and shall be as though they had not been. And the lightnings of heaven shall be no more, and by their enchantment they shall affright the world (probably: The heaven shall turn to lightning and the lightnings thereof shall affright the world. The spirits also of the dead bodies shall be like unto them (the lightnings?) and shall become fire at the commandment of God.

And so soon as the whole creation dissolveth, the men that are in the east shall flee unto the west, unto the east; they that are in the south shall flee to the north, and they that are in the south. And in all places shall the wrath of a fearful fire overtake them and an unquenchable flame driving them shall bring them unto the judgement of wrath, unto the stream of unquenchable fire that floweth, flaming with fire, and when the waves thereof part themselves one from another, burning, there shall be a great gnashing of teeth among the children of men.

Then shall they all behold me coming upon an eternal cloud of brightness: and the angels of God that are with me shall sit (prob. Then shall he command them to enter into the river of fire while the works of every one of them shall stand before them (something is wanting) to every man according to his deeds. As for the elect that have done good, they shall come unto me and not see death by the devouring fire. But the unrighteous the sinners, and the hypocrites shall stand in the depths of darkness that shall not pass away, and their chastisement is the fire, and angels bring forward their sins and prepare for them a place wherein they shall be punished for ever (every one according to his transgression).

Uriel (Urael) the angel of God shall bring forth the souls of those sinners (every one according to his transgression: perhaps this clause should end the preceding paragraph: so Grebaut takes it) who perished in the flood, and of all that dwelt in all idols, in every molten image, in every (object of) love, and in pictures, and of those that dwelt on all hills and in stones and by the wayside, whom men called gods: they shall burn them with them (the objects in which they dwelt, or their worshippers?) in everlasting fire; and after that all of them with their dwelling places are destroyed, they shall be punished eternally.

(Here begins the description of torments which we have, in another text, in the Akhmim fragment.)

Then shall men and women come unto the place prepared for them. By their tongues wherewith they have blasphemed the way of righteousness shall they be hanged up. There is spread under them unquenchable fire, that they escape it not.

Behold, another place: therein is a pit, great and full (of . . ) In it are they that have denied righteousness: and angels of punishment chastise them and there do they kindle upon them the fire of their torment.

And again behold [two: corrupt] women: they hang them up by their neck and by their hair; they shall cast them into the pit. These are they which plaited their hair, not for good (or, not to make them beautiful) but to turn them to fornication, that they might ensnare the souls of men unto perdition. And the men that lay with them in fornication shall be hung by their loins in that place of fire; and they shall say one to another: We knew not that we should come unto everlasting punishment.

And the murderers and them that have made common cause with them shall they cast into the fire, in a place full of venomous beasts, and they shall be tormented without rest, feeling their pains; and their worms shall be as many in number as a dark cloud. And the angel Ezrael shall bring forth the souls of them that have been slain, and they shall behold the torment of them that slew them, and say one to another: Righteousness and justice is the judgement of God. For we heard, but we believed not, that we should come into this place of eternal judgement.

And near by this flame shall be a pit, great and very deep, and into it floweth from above all manner of torment, foulness, and issue. And women are swallowed up therein up to their necks and tormented with great pain. These are they that have caused their children to be born untimely, and have corrupted the work of God that created them. Over against them shall be another place where sit their children [both] alive, and they cry unto God. And flashes (lightnings) go forth from those children and pierce the eyes of them that for fornication’s sake have caused their destruction.

Other men and women shall stand above them, naked; and their children stand over against them in a place of delight, and sigh and cry unto God because of their parents, saying: These are they that have despised and cursed and transgressed thy commandments and delivered us unto death: they have cursed the angel that formed us, and have hanged us up, and withheld from us (or, begrudged us) the light which thou hast given unto all creatures. And the milk of their mothers flowing from their breasts shall congeal, and from it shall come beasts devouring flesh, which shall come forth and turn and torment them for ever with their husbands, because they forsook the commandments of God and slew their children. As for their children, they shall be delivered unto the angel Temlakos (i.e. a care-taking angel: see above, in the Fragments). And they that slew them shall be tormented eternally, for God willeth it so.

Ezrael the angel of wrath shall bring men and women, the half of their bodies burning, and cast them into a place of darkness, even the hell of men; and a spirit of wrath shall chastise them with all manner of torment, and a worm that sleepeth not shall devour their entrails: and these are the persecutors and betrayers of my righteous ones.

And beside them that are there, shall be other men and women, gnawing their tongues; and they shall torment them with red-hot iron and burn their eyes. These are they that slander and doubt of my righteousness. Other men and women whose works were done in deceitfulness shall have their lips cut off, and fire entereth into their mouth and their entrails. These are the false witnesses (al. these are they that caused the martyrs to die by their lying).

And beside them, in a place near at hand, upon the stone shall be a pillar of fire, and the pillar is sharper than swords. And there shall be men and women clad in rags and filthy garments, and they shall be cast thereon, to suffer the judgement of a torment that ceaseth not: these are they that trusted in their riches and despised the widows and the woman with fatherless children . . . before God.

And into another place hard by, full of filth, do they cast men and women up to the knees. These are they that lent money and took usury.

And other men and women cast themselves down from an high place and return again and run, and devils drive them. [These are the worshippers of idols] and they put them to the end of their witst (drive them up to the top of the height) and they cast themselves down. And thus do they continually, and are tormented for ever. These are they which have cut their flesh as [apostles] of a man: and the women that were with them . . . and these are the men that defiled themselves together as women. (This is very corrupt: but the sense is clear in the (Greek.)

And beside them (shall be a brazier ?) . . . and beneath them shall the angel Ezrael prepare a place of much fire: and all the idols of gold and silver, all idols, the work of men’s hands, and the semblances of images of cats and lions, of creeping things and wild beasts, and the men and women that have prepared the images thereof, shall be in chains of fire and shall be chastised because of their error before the idols, and this is their judgement for ever. (In the Greek they beat each other with rods of fire: and this is better.)

And beside them shall be other men and women, burning in the fire of the judgement, and their torment is everlasting. These are they that have forsaken the commandment of God and followed the (persuasions ?) of devils.

(Parts of these two sections are in the Bodleian Fragment. At this point the Akhmim fragment ends. The Ethiopic continues 🙂

And there shall be another place, very high (corrupt sentences follow. Duensing omits them: Grebaut renders doubtfully: There shall be a furnace and a brazier wherein shall burn fire. The fire that shall burn shall come from one end of the brazier). The men and women whose feet slip, shall go rolling down into a place where is fear. And again while the fire that is prepared floweth, they mount up and fall down again and continue to roll down. (This suggests a narrow bridge over a stream of fire which they keep trying to cross.) Thus shall they be tormented for ever. These are they that honoured not their father and mother and of their own accord withheld (withdrew) themselves from them. Therefore shall they be chastised eternally.

Furthermore the angel Ezrael shall bring children and maidens to show them those that are tormented. They shall be chastised with pains, with hanging up (?) and with a multitude of wounds which flesh-devouring birds shall inflict upon them. These are they that boast themselves (trust) in their sins, and obey not their parents and follow not the instruction of their fathers, and honour not them that are more aged than they.

Beside them shall be girls clad in darkness for a garment and they shall be sore chastised and their flesh shall be torn in pieces. These are they that kept not their virginity until they were given in marriage, and with these torments shall they be punished, and shall feel them.

And again, other men and women, gnawing their tongues without ceasing, and being tormented with everlasting fire. These are the servants (slaves) which were not obedient unto their masters; and this then is their judgement for ever.

And hard by this place of torment shall be men and women dumb and blind, whose raiment is white. They shall crowd one upon another, and fall upon coals of unquenchable fire. These are they that give alms and say: We are righteous before God: whereas they have not sought after righteousness.

Ezrael the angel of God shall bring them forth out of this fire and establish a judgement of decision. This then is their judgement. A river of fire shall flow and all judgement (they that are judged) shall be drawn down into the middle of the river. And Uriel shall set them there.

And there are wheels of fire and men and women hung thereon by the strength of the whirling thereof. And they that are in the pit shall burn: now these are the sorcerers and sorceresses. Those wheels shall be in a]l decision (judgement, punishment) by fire without number.

Thereafter shall the angels bring mine elect and righteous which are perfect in all uprightness, and bear them in their hands, and clothe them with the raiment of the life that is above. They shall see their desire on them that hated them, when he punisheth them, and the torment of every one shall be for ever according to his works.

And all they that are in torment shall say with one voice: have mercy upon us, for now know we the judgement of God, which he declared unto us aforetime, and we believed not. And the angel Tatirokos (Tartaruchus, keeper of hell: a word corresponding in formation to Temeluchus) shall come and chastise them with yet greater torment, and say unto them: Now do ye repent, when it is no longer the time for repentance, and nought of life remaineth. And they shall say: Righteous is the judgement of God, for we have heard and perceived that his judgement is good; for we are recompensed according to our deeds.

Then will I give unto mine elect and righteous the washing (baptism) and the salvation for which they have besought me, in the field of Akrosja (Acherousia, a lake in other writings, e.g. Apocalypse of Moses -where the soul of Adam is washed in it: see also Paul 22, 23) which is called Aneslasleja (Elysium). They shall adorn with flowers the portion of the righteous, and I shall go . . . I shall rejoice with them. I will cause the peoples to enter in to mine everlasting kingdom, and show them that eternal thing (life ?) whereon I have made them to set their hope, even I and my Father which is in heaven.

I have spoken this unto thee, Peter, and declared it unto thee. Go forth therefore and go unto the land (or city) of the west. (Duensing omits the next sentences as unintelligible; Grebaut and N. McLean render thus: and enter into the vineyard which I shall tell thee of, in order that by the sickness (sufferings) of the Son who is without sin the deeds of corruption may be sanctified. As for thee, thou art chosen according to the promise which I have given thee. Spread thou therefore my gospel throughout all the world in peace. Verily men shall rejoice: my words shall be the source of hope and of life, and suddenly shall the world be ravished.)

(We now have the section descriptive of paradise, which in the Akhmim text precedes that about hell.)

And my Lord Jesus Christ our King said unto me: Let us go unto the holy mountain. And his disciples went with him, praying. And behold there were two men there, and we could not look upon their faces, for a light came from them, shining more than the sun, and their rairment also was shining, and cannot be described, and nothing is sufficient to be compared unto them in this world. And the sweetness of them . . . that no mouth is able to utter the beauty of their appearance (or, the mouth hath not sweetness to express, &c.), for their aspect was astonishing and wonderful. And the other, great, I say (probably: and, in a word, I cannot describe it), shineth in his (sic) aspect above crystal. Like the flower of roses is the appearance of the colour of his aspect and of his body . . . his head (al. their head was a marvel). And upon his (their) shoulders (evidently something about their hair has dropped out) and on their foreheads was a crown of nard woven of fair flowers. As the rainbow in the water, [Probably: in the time of rain. From the LXX of Ezek.i.28.] so was their hair. And such was the comeliness of their countenance, adorned with all manner of ornament. And when we saw them on a sudden, we marvelled. And I drew near unto the Lord (God) Jesus Christ and said unto him: O my Lord, who are these? And he said unto me: They are Moses and Elias. As is their rest, such also is the honour and the glory of them that are persecuted for my righteousness’ sake. And I rejoiced and believed [and believed] and understood that which is written in the book of my Lord Jesus Christ. And I said unto him: O my Lord, wilt thou that I make here three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias? And he said unto me in wrath: Satan maketh war against thee, and hath veiled thine understanding; and the good things of this world prevail against thee. Thine eyes therefore must be opened and thine ears unstopped that a tabernacle, not made with men’s hands, which my heavenly Father hath made for me and for the elect. And we beheld it and were full of gladness.

And behold, suddenly there came a voice from heaven, saying: This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased: my commandments. And then came a great and exceeding white cloud over our heads and bare away our Lord and Moses and Elias. And I trembled and was afraid: and we looked up and the heaven opened and we beheld men in the flesh, and they came and greeted our Lord and Moses and Elias and went into another heaven. And the word of the scripture was fulfilled: This is the generation that seeketh him and seeketh the face of the God of Jacob. And great fear and commotion was there in heaven and the angels pressed one upon another that the word of the scripture might be fulfilled which saith: Open the gates, ye princes.

Thereafter was the heaven shut, that had been open.

And we prayed and went down from the mountain, glorifying God, which hath written the names of the righteous in heaven in the book of life.

There is a great deal more of the Ethiopic text, but it is very evidently of later date; the next words are:

‘Peter opened his mouth and said to me: Hearken, my son Clement, God created all things for his glory,’ and this proposition is dwelt upon. The glory of those who duly praise God is described in terms borrowed from the Apocalypse: ‘The Son at his coming will raise the dead . . . and will make my righteous ones shine seven times more than the sun, and will make their crowns shine like crystal and like the rainbow in the time of rain (crowns) which are perfumed with nard and cannot be contemplated (adorned) with rubies, with the colour of emeralds shining brightly, with topazes, gems, and yellow pearls that shine like the stars of heaven, and like the rays of the sun, sparkling which cannot be gazed upon.’ Again, of the angels: ‘ Their faces shine more than the sun; their crowns are as the rainbow in the time of rain. (They are perfumed) with nard. Their eyes shine like the morning star. The beauty of their appearance cannot be expressed…. Their raiment is not woven, but white as that of the fuller, according as I saw on the mountain where Moses and Elias were. Our Lord showed at the transfiguration the apparel of the last days, of the day of resurrection, unto Peter, James and John the sons of Zebedee, and a bright cloud overshadowed us, and we heard the voice of the Father saying unto us: This is my Son whom I love and in whom I am well pleased: hear him. And being afraid we forgat all the things of this life and of the flesh, and knew not what we said because of the greatness of the wonder of that day, and of the mountain whereon he showed us the second coming in the kingdom that passeth not away.’

Next: ‘ The Father hath committed all judgement unto the Son.’ The destiny of sinners -their eternal doom- is more than Peter can endure: he appeals to Christ to have pity on them.

And my Lord answered me and said to me: ‘Hast thou understood that which I said unto thee before? It is permitted unto thee to know that concerning which thou askest: but thou must not tell that which thou hearest unto the sinners lest they transgress the more, and sin.’ Peter weeps many hours, and is at last consoled by an answer which, though exceedingly diffuse and vague does seem to promise ultimate pardon for all: ‘My Father will give unto them all the life, the glory, and the kingdom that passeth not away,’ . . . ‘It is because of them that have believed in me that I am come. It is also because of them that have believed in me, that, at their word, I shall have pity on men.’ The doctrine that sinners will be saved at last by the prayers of the righteous is, rather obscurely, enunciated in the Second Book of the Sibylline Oracles (a paraphrase, in this part, of the Apocalypse), and in the (Coptic) Apocalypse of Elias (see post).

Ultimately Peter orders Clement to hide this revelation in a box, that foolish men may not see it. The passage in the Second Book of the Sibylline Oracles which seems to point to the ultimate salvation of all sinners will be found in the last lines of the translation given below.

The passage in the Coptic Apocalypse of Elias is guarded and obscure in expression, but significant. It begins with a sentence which has a parallel in Peter.

The righteous will behold the sinners in their punishment, and those who have persecuted them and delivered them up. Then will the sinners on their part behold the place of the righteous and be partakers of grace. In that day will that for which the (righteous) shall often pray, be granted to them.

That is, as I take it, the salvation of sinners will be granted at the prayer of the righteous.

Compare also the Epistle of the Apostles, 40: ‘the righteous are sorry for the sinners, and pray for them…. And I will hearken unto the prayer of the righteous which they make for them.’

I would add that the author of the Acts of Paul, who (in the Third Epistle to the Corinthians and elsewhere) betrays a knowledge of the Apocalypse of Peter, makes Falconilla, the deceased daughter of Tryphaena, speak of Thecla’s praying for her that she may be translated unto the place of the righteous (Thecla episode, 28).

My impression is that the maker of the Ethiopic version (or of its Arabic parent, or of another ancestor) has designedly omitted or slurred over some clauses in the passage beginning: ‘Then will I give unto mine elect’, and that in his very diffuse and obscure appendix to the Apocalypse, he has tried to break the dangerous doctrine of the ultimate salvation of sinners gently to his readers. But when the Arabic version of the Apocalypse is before us in the promised edition of MM. Griveau and Grebaut, we shall have better means of deciding.

APPENDIX

SECOND BOOK OF THE SIBYLLINE ORACLES, 190-338

It seems worth while to append here a translation of that portion of the Second Book which is most evidently taken from the Apocalypse of Peter. It may be remarked that Books I and II of the oracles really form but one composition, which is Christian and may be assigned to some time not early in the second century, or to the third. Many lines are borrowed from the older books, especially III and VIII.

After saying (1.187) that Elias will descend on earth and do three great signs, it proceeds:

190 Woe unto all them that are found great with child in that day, and to them that give suck to infant children, and to them that dwell by the sea (the waves). Woe to them that shall behold that day. For a dark mist shall cover the boundless world, of the east and west, the south and north. And then shall a great river of flaming fire flow from heaven and consume all places, the earth and the great ocean and the grey sea, lakes and rivers and fountains, and merciless

200 Hades and the pole of heaven: but the lights of heaven shall melt together in one and into a void (desolate) shape (?). The New Bible Codes Reveal Earthquake Epidemic Of Sin Repentance

While the heavens raged above in one of the most disastrous hurricane seasons in history, the earth trembled below as a global epidemic of major earthquakes shook all around the volatile Pacific Ring of Fire. A Bible Codes expert, searching for the divine message hidden in the Mexico disaster, discovered a shockingly clear reference that indicates this trend will only continue.

The past month has had more than its share of natural disasters, with Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Jose causing almost 250 deaths and a record $180 billion in damages. Now, a global series of earthquakes is beginning to raise fears of even greater disasters to come. This double dose of elemental fury is explicitly described in Isaiah as presaging the end-of-days.

Therefore shall heaven be shaken, And earth leap out of its place, At the fury of God of Hosts On the day of His burning wrath. Isaiah 13:13

This month, while even more hurricanes brewed over the Atlantic Ocean, two deadly earthquakes hit Mexico. On September 8, an 8.4 magnitude earthquake hit the country’s west coast, killing almost 60 people and generating a minor tsunami. This was followed last Tuesday by a 7.1 magnitude quake that devastated Mexico City, killing at least 326 people.

Attached to this verse, he found a code of the word ‘Mexico’ with the Hebrew words ‘rash’ (shaking) and ‘adamah’ (ground). Also attached to this grouping were the words ‘kavod Hashem’ (honor of God). The rabbi noted that the earthquakes today are related to Korach, who was swallowed up by by the earth. The rabbi warned that the sin of Korach is being repeated today on an international scale.

“People, even people who claim to be religious, are trampling God’s honor,” the rabbi said. “It is foretold that the earth will open again before Messiah to restore Korach.”

The rabbi warned that this clearly means that the days preceding the Messiah will necessarily be filled with earthquakes.

The rabbi’s warnings seem well-founded, as hints of a similar disaster were felt in the U.S. last week when a 3.6 magnitude earthquake hit near Los Angeles. On Sunday, over a period of 24 hours, 28 minor tremors ranging from 1.5-2.6 hit Tuolumne City, in central California.

Seismic activity around the globe is increasing at an alarming rate. The quakes in Mexico are not isolated incidents, since Mexico is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, a tectonically active region surrounding the Pacific Ocean accounting for nearly 90 percent of the seismic activity on the planet.

In fact, other sections of the Ring of Fire have been unusually active recently. Two powerful earthquakes were reported to have struck New Zealand on Wednesday, while Japan had flashbacks of a national disaster when seismic activity began off the coast east of Fukushima early on Thursday morning. In total, there have been ten major quakes of 4.9 or more recorded around the Pacific in the last week alone.

The danger was made even more emphatically clear when the Monaro Voui volcano erupted violently on Tuesday, leading to the evacuation of the entire island of Ambae, part of the South Pacific nation of Vanuatu. On Monday, 50,000 people were evacuated from Bali, Indonesia as seismologists warned that Mount Agung was about to erupt.

Earthquakes are indeed a source of alarm, but they are only one of the many forms of natural disaster that have struck in recent weeks. Last month, millions of acres of forests in the Northwest U.S. were destroyed in raging wildfires. Yellowstone, one of the most troubling seismic hotspots on the planet, is having one of the most active years ever with over 2,300 tremors since June.

Like Rabbi Glazerson, Rabbi Yosef Berger, rabbi of King David’s Tomb at Mount Zion, understands the natural disasters as part of the Messianic process. Rabbi Berger explained that all of the natural disasters, earthshaking and ocean-born, are intended to bring about one specific result: the ultimate redemption.

“We have seen all parts of the globe struck by natural disaster recently,” Rabbi Berger told Breaking Israel News. “All parts, except Israel.”

Rabbi Berger told that he had been approached by a man recognized among the ultra-Orthodox Jews of Jerusalem as a hidden tzaddik (righteous man). This tzaddik requested that Rabbi Berger make known a message for the world.

“Anyone who looks around the world today has to see that Israel is a wonderful place,” Rabbi Berger said, repeating what he had been told. “The ingathering of the exiles is one of the final and most important stages in the geula (redemption). All these disasters have made it more clear than ever that it is time for the Jews to come home.

“The tzaddik said that this is happening in the time of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur in order that people do tshuva (repent), and the highest form of repentance is to return to Israel.”

President Milos Zeman was honored in the New York City at the prestigious meeting of American and world Jewish community representatives on Monday night with the Fighter of the Truth Award. The head of state appreciation won for the lifetime support of the State of Israel and Jewish ideas in general.

Our presidents on the podium in front of VIP audiences celebrated the celebrated American billionaire, philanthropist and president of the World Jewish Congress, Ronald Lauder, celebrating a speech full of superlatives about the Czech Republic, Czechoslovakia and Zeman himself.

Milos Zeman began to finish magnificently for the stormy applause of standing. “We face the threats of the current world, and the word” solidarity “is not enough,” Zeman said in a thank-you speech at the foundation of the foundation. “We have to ask what are the risks and threats and which also pose a risk to the Jewish state of Israel,” Zeman said. According to Zeman, such a risk is Islamic terrorism, about which he intends to stand at the UN plenum.

“An important issue is lack of courage. “But we need solidarity, without conditions,” Zeman said. “We need a new candle against darkness, concrete actions and not just words,” he added. One such candle would, according to Zeman, be the relocation of embassies of democratic states from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. “I proposed the Czech embassy a few years ago. We need concrete steps towards real and unconditional solidarity, “he said.

Thanks for the nice invitation. I’m very glad to be here. Two years ago at the AIPAC Congress, I was paraphrasing the famous John Kennedy slogan: Ich bin ein Berliner (I am a Berliner). And I said, I am a Jew (I am a Jew). And Jehudi. Anyway, this is not enough. Faced with the risks of the contemporary world, only the verbal form of solidarity is not enough. 

What is the risk of the current world facing the Jewish community and the state of Israel? First, it is Islamic terrorism, about which I will speak at the United Nations General Assembly tomorrow. And because I am not polite, I will not talk about international terrorism, but about Islamic terrorism. But the topic that is important to our debate is different. Let’s talk about lack of courage. Let’s talk about cowardice, hesitation, hypocrisy. About solidarity that is conditional. I call her “solidarity, but”. I will give you some examples: Yes, of course, we support the state of Israel, but it is not the Jewish state of Israel. Yes, we encourage each country to have its capital, but we do not support Jerusalem as the capital. Yes, we fully support the right of Israel to secure borders, but the Golan Heights can not be part of Israeli territory. And so on, and so on. Every killer from Palestine is a fighter for freedom. And if someone sends a missile from Gaza to Israel, we condemn it, but you can not react by bombing the Gaza Strip yourself. This is solidarity, but, but … 

And these absolutely contradict what solidarity is. We need solidarity without but. In other words, we need unreserved solidarity with the Jews and the State of Israel. What should we do today? Now we need a candle against the dark. We need concrete actions rather than words. And such a candle could be the relocation of embassies of democratic states from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. I proposed this relocation of the Czech embassy four years ago during my visit to Israel, and Prime Minister Netanyahu said to me then: If it does, I give you my own house. I hope that his promise is still valid. After a similar thing to me, Donald Trump promised, it may be a good impetus for some daring countries. 

So, this is a concrete solution, a concrete gesture, a concrete step towards true solidarity and not just the word. Dear friends, let me end with the last sentence of the old Jewish prayer: next year in Jerusalem! Thank you!

In a recent Jewish synagogue sermon Rabbi Nir Ben Artzi unleased a litany of future and potential disasters that include not only earthquakes, major oceanic and tsunami storms, but also recent international plane crashes whose causal destruction came as stellar EMP bolides of HaShem’s divine judgement in response to global political events. 

These have enhanced the notable and spiritual intent of the Divine plus includes powerful relevance to our present prophetic times. As Rabbi Nir Ben Arzi warned while elaborating with intense detail about the current messianic “birth pangs”, does give us insight in the cause and effect intent of Divine judgment upon Planet Earth and the 70 nations of the earth. This end of days scenario suddenly erupted in March, 2016, when seven major earthquakes struck Japan and Ecuador and crashed into both coasts of the Pacific within 96 hours. 

To many of the interpreting seismologists, this is only the beginning of a long range global process of evolutionary development. The rabbis and the believers of the rabbinic faith whether Jews, Lost Ten Israelites or believing Noahides, we are instead watching carefully the development of the global messianic process of recreating a new Gan Eden that will first be revealed to begin on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. 

As the Chazal, the Sages of Judah have long proclaimed; In the end days when the Era of Metatron, will be revealed as HaShem’s Melekh HaMaschiach (King Messiah) He will be known as the Maschiach ben David (Messiah son of David. At that time:

The Temple Mount will expand to include the whole State of Israel.

The Land of Israel will then expand to include the whole Middle East from the Nile to the Euphrates.

The Middle East will expand to include the entire Planet Earth.

The Rabbis and people of faith will then fully recognize this as part of the Universal Messianic process with the Creation of the “Commonwealth of Israel.” 

The Rabbis and the people of the faith will then recognize that what we have been beholding in front of our eyes has been the merging of the two Messianic Mega-Trends; called the Maschiach ben Yosef (Messiah son of Joseph) and the Maschiach ben David (Messiah son of David)  

It was in the summer 2016 that earth scientists began to see the remodeling of Planet Earth. Over 500 people were killed when a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Ecuador. 1,700 people remained missing, over 4,000 are injured, and thousands more are wandering homeless.   

Within 94 hours, a 7.3-magnitude quake hit Japan’s southern island hour later, while over 600 smaller tremors continued to shake the survivors. The death toll in Japan stands at 47 killed, more than 1,000 injured, 8 missing, and over 100,000 left homeless. 

Other less-deadly earthquakes were felt around the world. Many scientists are convinced that this recent epidemic of earthquakes is just a prelude to increased seismic activity around the globe in unprecedented magnitudes. 

University of Colorado seismologist Roger Bilham told the Express, “The current conditions might trigger at least four earthquakes greater than 8.0 in magnitude. And if they delay, the strain accumulated during the centuries provokes more catastrophic mega-earthquakes.” 

Experts from India’s Ministry of Home Affairs warned in January that yet another major quake, equal or larger than the last disaster, can be expected in the region. 

Seismologists at Tokyo University estimate there is a 98 percent chance that in the next 30 years Japan will be hit by another major earthquake of catastrophic proportions. Earlier in 2011 a 9.0-magnitude quake killed over 20,000 people, but its destructive effects didn’t end at mere earth-shifting. 

Japan’s Fukushima power plant was designed to withstand earthquakes, but a meltdown occurred when the ensuing tsunami washed away generators powering the emergency cooling, leaking large amounts of radioactive material into the atmosphere. 

This apocalyptic scenario could easily be repeated with devastating results in many developed countries, including the US. Nuclear power plants in California, New York, Washington State, and Arkansas are situated near major fault lines. Other plants in Maine, Pennsylvania, and Virginia have raised concern of their earthquake survivability with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission but were deemed within acceptable standards.

Especially at risk is the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant in California, which is situated directly on the ocean, making it very vulnerable to tsunamis. It sits in an earthquake red zone, in close vicinity to four active fault lines, one lying only 2,000 feet away from the plant’s two nuclear reactors.

David Freeman, a former general manager of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, called the Diablo Nuclear plant “a disaster waiting to happen.” 

The facts exist that tsunamis are far more devastating than the earthquakes that trigger them. In 2004, the Banda Aceh earthquake, barely felt on land, created a tsunami in the Indian Ocean that killed about 250,000 people in Sumatra and Indonesia. 

A recent study by seismologists at the University of California suggests that Southern California is at greater risk of tsunamis than previously thought. A 7.0-magnitude earthquake in the Ventura Basin Fault could generate a tsunami that would penetrate up to two kilometers inland in less than half an hour, devastating a heavily populated area.

It was Rabbi Yitzchak Batzri, a noted Kabbalist from Jerusalem, spoke to Breaking Israel News about how the wave of earthquakes fits into the Messianic process. There is no doubt that the earthquakes have a divine origin. As Rabbi Yitzchak Batzri pondered, he commented: 

Rabbi Yitzchak Batzri – “The potential of earthquakes has been a part of the history of the world since the first days of creation, but the power that brings it into existence is God’s will. The will is triggered by human action. Our actions, in relation to God, affect His decision to enact the forces of nature, especially in things having to do with our rejecting sanctity. As King David wrote: 

Psalms 104:32 – “He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; He toucheth the mountains, and they smoke” 

This describes what will happen in the End of Days before the final redemption. There will be an earthquake in Israel, but it will be beneficial, opening up the Temple Mount, bringing forth living waters, purifying the city to receive the Messiah.” 

The rabbinic understanding of this prophecy has over the centuries is today now supported by the opinions of many scientists. The Land of Israel sits on the Syria-African rift, which runs along the Dead sea Valley. It passes through the area thought to be the sites of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the city of Jericho, which still stands today. 

The Biblical accounts of the destruction of the twin cities of evil, and the later account of the falling walls of Jericho, could very well be interpreted as divinely powered geologic catastrophes. 

Per Dr. Shmuel Marco’s research on earthquakes and catastrophic event in the Middle East, such catastrophic events have been common to the region over the past millenniums. It was Dr. Shmuel Marco, who studied earthquake timelines and it was expected that that more earthquakes would be expected soon. Major earthquakes were recorded in the Jordan Valley in the years 31 BCE, 363 CE, 749 CE and 1033 CE.As he stated: 

Dr. Shmuel Marco – “So roughly, we are talking about an interval of every 400 years. If we follow the patterns of nature, a major quake should be expected any time because almost a whole millennium has passed since the last strong earthquake. The rash of earthquakes has brought about one of those rare scenarios in which scientific theory and prophetic vision agree: earthquakes threaten our future. Man would be wise to prepare, spiritually and physically, for what lies ahead.” 

According to the CATDAT database, the socioeconomic loss and metrics from natural disasters globally suggests that floods have caused the highest damage, earthquakes and storms show an increasing role in recent times. The overall data suggests that Natural Disasters since 1900 have resulted in over 8 Million Deaths and 7 Trillion US Dollars damage since 1980.

Rabbi Nir Ben Artzi prophetic insight on Recent Catastrophes 

Rabbi Artiz’s predictions appeared to dove-tail closely the catastrophic waves in which from 1900 up to the summer of 2015 it appears to align themselves with numerous global incidents around the world. 

The dual higher magnitude wave of major earthquakes which included a 7.8 magnitude quake in Ecuador that killed over 500 people, and a 7.3 magnitude quake in Japan that killed over 50 appears to come in alliance with global catastrophes as Seismologists were beginning to become more spiritually inclined that prophecy was connected to the end-of days. And while lost planes are uncommon in these technologically-advanced days, it is nearly three years to the day since the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 vanished into thin air.

Rabbi Ben Artzi’s other predictions focused on the Middle East, ranging from the impact of Donald Trump’s presidency on Israel to the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and radical Islam. 

Rabbi Artzi carried words of encouragement to the Jewish people in Israel with the message that Trump will be good for the Jewish State of Israel and that “Trump is doing his real work in secret, so he can fix all the things that were made “crooked”. He doesn’t like to make his plans public prematurely, and if he hasn’t yet done what he promised, he will.”

There has been “One presidential promise that has been reneged upon and failed in the campaign promises of his President Trump’s predecessors was the promise of the American presidents that they would move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the capital of Israel. 

This one issue has captured the international attention of all the nations of the world as to whether President Donald Trump will move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem? 

Yet not realized due to the subdued coverage of the international media was the fact that there was currently already a delegation of two congressmen who arrived in Israel to begin scouting locations for the embassy in Jerusalem and putting the move into motion. 

When it came to the diplomatic potential of a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians, the famed mystical rabbi, Rabbi Ben Artzi predicted that there “would be no advances in negotiations” premised on the fact that “coexistence runs counter to the spiritual inclination of the Arabs.” As Rabbi Artzi exclaimed:

The Palestinians can live anywhere else in the Middle East, but they choose to cope with the difficulties in Israel so “they could have a chance to harm the Jews.”

Regardless of their nefarious goals to destroy the State of Israel and drive the Jews into the sea, Rabbi Ben Artzi went on to state that “the Arab world, even avowed enemies like ISIS and Iran, will fail to harm Israel.” As Rabbi Artzi then proclaimed: 

Rabbi Ben Artzi – “ISIS has an unexpected place in the divine plan – its role is actually to protect Israel from its enemies. ISIS will not be wiped out. God does not want it wiped out for they are “agents of the Divine.” He then further stated: 

Rabbi Nir Ben Artzi – “ISIS creates complications all over the world in certain countries so that they will leave Israel alone. ISIS and the Muslims hate Christians more than they hate Jews.” Even deeper with the combined efforts of the world’s superpowers of America’s forces and the Russian military, ISIS has not been defeated.” 

Yet the role of ISIS since its founding in 2014, ISIS has committed dozens of terror attacks in Europe and Turkey and killed hundreds of civilians, apart from its genocidal plan to wipe out all non-Muslims within its territories.

“Iran is still working to produce nuclear weapons,” the rabbi said. “America can use the [nuclear] agreement to reveal all the nuclear sites in Iran. But Israel is not in danger from these nuclear weapons. The threat of Iranian nuclear weapons is to America and the rest of the world.” 

The reality is that Rabbi Ben Artzi has made similar predictions in the past that have come true in shocking detail. Over a month ago, Breaking Israel News reported a prediction made by the rabbi that black magik will make a comeback in the world. It will be the adepts of “Black Magik” supporters that will focus on the world leaders like US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. 

Less than two weeks later, opponents of President Trump gathered outside Trump Tower in New York City in an attempt to curse the president and his supporters. They sent out a call on social media for others to join in, with detailed instructions on how to perform the black magic. 

Another of the rabbi’s predictions that materialized was concerning Russia providing Iran with the advanced S-300 anti-aircraft weapons system in the summer of 2016 when Rabbi Ben Artzi made the following statement backed by the promises of the Divine: 

Psalms 37:15 – “Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken: 

Rabbi Nir Ben Artzi – “These missiles, which can shoot down practically any plane, will get a virus in their computers, and go crazy.” With additional emphasis, Rabbi Ben Artzi reassured his followers in September. “They (the missiles will blow up inside their bunkers. The launcher will blow up underneath them.”

In the week before December 16, 2016, Breaking Israel News reported again, this time on the failed launching of Russia’s advanced S-300 anti-aircraft weapons system to Iran, again Rabbi Nir Ben Artzi stated that it was not necessary to worry. It was in a vision when Rabbi Nir Ben Artzi received included a biblical inspired vision when he was shown the fate of the missiles. 

In December, a video went up on YouTube showing precisely what the rabbi had prophesied: a missile shot out of an S-300 launcher but its rocket failed to ignite. The missile dropped back onto its launcher, exploding inside the bunker. 

We must honor the fact that as Jews and Lost 10 Israelites, we also were given access to live in the Holy Land of Israel subject to conditions as outlined by the G-d of Israel.

The condition of any of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, their remaining in “The Land” came with one proviso; “Conquer the Land”. “Drive out the Canaanites (Palestinians)” who were corrupting the land given by the G-d of Israel to Abraham in an epic contract for all ages; guaranteed by the Sovereign power of G-d. 

This is the same “Divine Contract” that has been given also to the last Israeli Prime Minister of the State of Israel; Benyamin Netanyahu, which he is mandated by G-d to honor today. 

After the Government of Israel comes under the yoke of Metatron, Melekh HaMaschiach’s (King Messiah’s) Divine rule in Jerusalem, only then will the Commonwealth of Israel’s rule extend all over Planet Earth as HaShem’s Solar Rex Capital of our Solar System. 

As stated above, this same mandate has been given also to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as stated in the Torah: 
Conquer the Ancient Canaanite lands in Galilee, Shomron (Samaria) and Judea and the East Side of the Jordan River in Basham and Assyria. 

Return the Palestinians back to the lands of their Ishmaelite forefathers in Jordan on the East Bank of the Jordan River and beyond in the deserts of Arabia. 

Support the Jewish people in building towns, industry, re-foresting the Mountains of Central Israel, for it is the Divine Mandate that the Jewish people and the Lost Ten Tribes of the House of Israel must settle, plant fields and orchards, develop spiritual technology, create cities of holiness as our act of “arousal from below”. 

Support the Jewish Rabbanim in creating an atmosphere of holiness in Jerusalem and the cities in Israel so that the G-d of Israel can open the “floodgates of heaven and herald in the future, Olam HaBah (World to Come) as we welcome the elevated level of consciousness that is part of the futuristic “Era of the Messiah”. 

So role as G-d opens the flood gates of heaven, even we as the Lost Ten Tribes of the House of Israel, may step through the interdimensional vortex into the futuristic 4th dimensional world of messianic consciousness.


According to Rabbi Joel David Bakst in “The Jerusalem Stone of Consciousness”: we read: 

Joel David Bakst – “Just as in the human body neural pathways are already built into us, likewise the inter-dimensional pathways are already built into us, likewise the inter-dimensional circuits that spread out from Jerusalem throughout the world are built into creation. 

This is the esoteric meaning of the verse, “For out of Zion” [another code name for the Foundation Stone called the Makon or “G-d’s Holy Place”, that is covered by the Even Shetiya [Golden Dome of the Rock] “will go forth Torah” referring to the renewed Torah consciousness along the “Teetering Edge of the Messianic Age.” 

The future waterways referred to are not only something that will be created totally new. These virtual global “cerebral neural networks” and passage ways already have their channels carved out in the extra-dimensional planes. 

The circuits or “tunnels” are already here and we must “get our motor running”, and our pulsating thought waves activated as we find our way into the higher levels of messianic consciousness. As the Talmudic Sages have stated over the centuries. The mystic sages over the centuries have alluded to these hidden meridians when, the Sages enigmatically inform us that: 

In the future; the level of kedusha/holiness of the Holy of Holies will spread throughout the entire Temple Mount, 

Then the level of kedusha/holiness of Jerusalem will spread throughout all of Eretz Yisrael (Land of Israel and then, 

The kedusha/holiness of Eretz Yisrael (Land of Israel) will spread to the whole world.

The Potential Effect of the Red Binary Star Nibiru upon North and Central America

Those with “eyes that can see and behold” can only ponder the significance of what will happen to Planet Earth when Nibiru’s smaller solar system with its 7 planetoids races by in a close fly-by. If we evaluate the futuristic Maps of North and Central America, this is what we may see: 

The volcanos in the Pacific Northwest will begin to erupt, the earthquakes begin to rumble, the tsunamis will race across the oceans to devastate the shorelines of the continents on the other side of the oceans. 

The Molten Iron Core of the Earth will continue to energize more and more, so that the plumes of magma erupting from the “magnetic core engine” of Planet Earth become so strong that they raise the beds of the maritime trenches of the Pacific Ocean and push up the mantle of the earth, according to “earth-change” researchers between 200 to 600 feet higher under the waters of the Pacific. 

As such the oceanic floor of the Pacific Ocean will rise from below, the oceanic waters above will begin to rise up higher and higher until 80% of Oregon, all of Nevada, 3/4th of Utah and parts of Northern Colorado will be under water. 

The entire coastline of California, including San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego all the way down to Baja California will be inundated like the ancient cities of old in past catastrophes. 

Parts of ancient maritime continents in the mythology of human peoples, may also rise such as the ancient mythical lands of Lemuria in the Pacific and Atlantis in the Atlantic Oceans. 

The Mississippi River will open up engulfing all the lands to its south into the Gulf of Mexico. 

The Gulf of Mexico will also be engulfed as water will rise several hundred feet inundating Houston and lands south of the escarpment resting to the south of Dallas and Fort-Worth. 

The Islands of the Caribbean Sea will completely go under the water including the Petén in Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Haiti and the Dominican Republic. 

Along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, Florida will be inundated and Miami is expected to be immersed as it sinks under the rising waters of the Atlantic Ocean. 

The Atlantic maritime coastline will also be submerged east of the Appalachian Mountains. The Atlantic maritime coastline along the eastern coastline of the United States and Washington DC, New York, Philadelphia and Boston will be prone to mega-tsunamis hundreds of feet in height. 

As we dwell upon these momentous days in our near future, we have to ponder the words of the prophets of the Hebrew TaNaKh and the Essene disciples of the esteemed Nasi of the Jerusalem Great Sanhedrin, Hillel the Great and his Beit Av Din, Menahem the Essene whose Orthodox disciples fled to Damascus first and later to Qumran.

The sky receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.  

Then the earth’s kings, the rulers, the generals, the rich and the mighty – indeed, everyone, slave and free – hid himself in caves and among the rocks in the mountains and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us, and hide us from the face of the One sitting on the throne and from the fury of the Lamb! For the Great Day of their fury has come, and who can stand!” 

Revelation 16:17- “The seventh one poured out his bowl on the air, and a loud voice came out of the of the Temple from the throne, saying, “It is done!”

There were flashes of lightning, voices and peals of thunder; and there was a massive earthquake, such has never occurred since mankind has been on earth, so violent was the earthquake. 

The great city (Washington, DC called Babylon the Great) was split into three parts (East of the Mississippi, West of the Mississippi, and the coastline of the Pacific Northwest and California and Baja California), the cities of the nations fell, …

Every island fled, and no mountains were to be found. And huge seventy pound hailstones fell on people from the sky. But the people cursed G-d for the plague of hail, that it was such a terrible plague.” 

Then compare these same cataclysmic times, in our prophetic future, as the Prophet Zechariah wrote these words: 

Zechariah 14:2,4,6 – “For I will gather all the nations against Yerushalayim for war…On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, …and the Mountain of Olives will be split in half from east to west; to make a huge valley…

On that day, there will be neither bright light nor thick darkness; and one day, known to Adonai, will be neither day nor night (sun will not go down), although by evening there will be light (sun will rise from west where it went down in the west (Planet Earth just made a partial or complete Pole Shift).” 

All of you have wondered how the G-d of Israel will bring all the prophetic events to their fulfillment at the time of the end. Watching the “Finger of the Divine” stirring up nations of the world is far more fascinating than watching a movie drama. The end results will be that all nations will pool all their economic resources at the “gates of Israel” and be prepared to once again to evoke the “Final Solution” this time amongst the remnant of the Jewish peoples that include all the Jews of the Diaspora that have fled to Israel as a land of safety before their life would be thrust through the “gate“ into “the world to come”. 

Yet, at that time, a massive influx or possibly mass migrations of the Lost Tribes of Israel will be returning home led by the spirit of HaShem. And during this same time, the G-d of Israel is wooing each one of you, the Lost Ten Tribes of the House of Israel, to return and be restored back into brotherhood with the Jews of the House of Judah so that He will send His Messiah to clean house of all the wickedness and corruption on Planet Earth.

A Hungarian archaeological mission digging in the ruins of Machaerus, a fortress built by King Herod on the eastern shore of the Dead Sea located in modern Jordan, has discovered a large ritual bath which were likely constructed for the royal family’s use. The bath has 12 steeps, and was fed from a reserve pool when its water ran low.

In order to qualify as a means to purification, a ritual bath must have at least 40 se’ah, the equivalent of about 83 gallons of water.

The underground cistern, 54 ft deep, watered the baths and the fortress’ gardens.

The architecture of the bath is very similar to the baths and cisterns discovered in nearby Qumran (across the Dead Sea). It is situated 9 ft below the royal courtyard, and used to be covered by a vaulted stone roof, which was probably demolished by Lucilius Bassus’ 10th Roman legion. Bassus’ soldiers, on a campaign to repress the Great Jewish Revolt, in 71 attacked the Herodian fortress and the Jewish warriors who were hiding inside.

The archaeologists exposed collapsed walls, two massive column drums, and four Roman ballistae.

The fortress of Machaerus was built by Hasmonean king Alexander Yanai (104-78 BCE), probably in 90 BCE. Its high, rocky vantage point was difficult to access, and it was used to spot and alerted Jerusalem about invaders from the east. It was part of a warning system that included several Hasmonean citadels, in one another’s line of sight.

Machaerus was destroyed by Pompey’s general Gabinius in 57 BCE, and later rebuilt by Herod in 30 BCE as a military base. Herod’s son, Herod Antipas, inherited the fortress (and the kingdom) in 4 BCE, until his demise in 39 CE. That’s time when, according to Christian belief, John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded at Machaerus.

The legend sets the event on Herod’s birthday (that’s Herod II), when the king’s daughter Salome danced before the king and his guests, and her father liked it so much that he promised to give her anything she desired, at which point Salome asked for—and received—the head of John the Baptist on a platter.

The excavation of Machaerus began in 1968, by the American Archaeological Baptist Mission. The current excavations, by a Hungarian-Jordanian team led by Dr. Győző Vörös, have unearthed intact massive walls 30 ft high, revealing the majesty of the legendary Herodian architecture.

The Hungarian excavators also discovered dozens of Hasmonean and Roman coins, as well as 47 Aramaic broken pottery shards inscribed with Aramaic letters.

Machaerus was in direct line of sight of Jerusalem. The Talmud reports that the smoke of the sacrificial offerings could be seen rising from the altar of the temple in Jerusalem all the way to Machaerus, and Rabbi Elazar ben Delgai said: (Yuma 39:): “Father owned goats in the Machaerus mountains that would sneeze from the smell of the burn incense.”

The Incredible Power Of The Hebrew Alphabet


In various places throughout the teachings of the Golden Dawn, it is stated emphatically that the Hebrew letters are magical symbols. For this reason, each student should learn how to form them and write them. Good calligraphy was often absent in the old Order, for I have seen manuscripts that go back a long way, in which the Hebrew letters are atrociously formed. If there is any magic in such an alphabet, the intent is defeated by deformed and ill-formed letters.

The student should make a point of learning in some way to write, print or letter these alphabets correctly. A good calligraphic pen, producing thick and thin lines is an absolute essential. A quill must have originally been used centuries ago, but the lettering pens of today are so much superior. If you don’t know how to go about it, it might be the easiest thing to enquire at a local university where Semitic languages are taught to be put in touch with a senior student who can then show you how to write the letters. Failing this, contact a local synagogue.

They will not harm you, cook you, or try to convert you. They may be curious as to why you want to know such a feat, but you can make up a half a dozen explanations to account for that – including the truth, that you are studying the Qabalah. They may know less about that than you, but at least they may be able to teach you how to write the letters correctly and that is half the battle won. I n the Zohar there is a pretty legend, rather long-winded but eloquent, about each letter of the alphabet, and how B, the second letter of the alphabet, came to be used as the first letter of the first word of the Bible – Berashith meaning In the Beginning.

There are two main translations of the Zohar that you could make use of, depending on which one you may have access to. Some of the libraries may have the translation of Simon and Sperling; others may have the shorter but earlier version of Nurho de Manhar. (Wizard Book Shelf, San Diego, CA. 1978). Regardless of whose translation you use, read or study the account of each letter appearing before God imploring Him to use that particular letter for the first word of Genesis. It is interesting reading, full of symbolism of one kind or another, and may throw a great deal of light for you on the motives for Mathers’ statement that Hebrew letters are magical symbols and as such must be treated with respect and honor.

“Rabbi Chananya spake, and said: Before creation began, the alphabetical letters were in reversed order; thus the two first words in the Book of Genesis, Berashith, bara, begin with B; the next two, Alhim, ath, with A. Why did it not commence with A, the first letter?

The reason of this inversion is as follows: For two thousand years before the creation of the world the letters were concealed and hidden, being objects of divine pleasure and delight.

“When the Divine Being, however, willed to create the world, all the letters appeared before His presence in their reverse order.

The first ascended and said: Lord of the Universe! let it please Thee to create the world by me, as I am the final letter of the word Emeth - (truth), which is graven on Thy signet ring. Thou Thyself art called Emeth, and therefore it will become Thee, the great King, to begin and create the world by me: Said the Holy One (blessed by He):Thou, oh, Tav, are indeed worthy, but I cannot create the world by thee; for thou art destined to be not only the characteristic emblem borne by faithful students of the law, from beginning to end, but also the associate of Maveth (death), of which thou art the final letter.

Therefore the creation of the world cannot, must not, be through thee.’

 “After Tav had disappeared, Sh ascended and said: I pray Thee, Lord of the Universe, as bearing Thy great name Shaddai (almighty), to create the world by me, by the holy name that becometh Thee only.' Said the Holy One:Thou art truly, o Shin, worthy, pure and true; but letters that go to form lying and falsehood will associate themselves with thee. viz.: Koph (Q) and Resh (R), and with thee will make up SheQeR (a lie), Falsehood, in order that it may be received and credited, come first with the appearance of truth (Sh), which thou representest, and for this reason I will not create the world by thee.’ So Shin departed and Q and R, having heard these words, dared not present themselves before the divine presence.

 ” T Z then went before Him, saying: Because I mark the Zaddikim (the righteous), and Thou Thyself hearest me in Thy name, Zaddik (righteous), and also it is written, The righteous Lord loveth righteousness, it will become Thee to create the world by me.' Then said the Holy One:Zaddi, Zaddi, thou art truly righteous, but thou must keep thyself concealed, and thy occult meaning must not be made known or b:,:;ome revealed; and therefore thou must not be used in the creation of the world. Thy original form was a rod, symbol of the male principle, surmounted by Yod, a letter of the holy Name, and also of the Holy Covenant, and emblem of the male principle. (By this, reference is made to the first man, who was androgynous, with faces turning one to the right, the other to the left, as symbolized in the figure of Zaddi in the Hebrew alphabet). But the time will come that thou shall be divided, and thy faces shall then be turned to each other.’

“Zaddi then departed, and P ascended and said: 1 am the beginning of the salvation (Peragna) and deliverance (Peduth) thou will execute in the world. It will be fitting to create it by me."Thou art worthy,' replied the Holy One,but thou also givest rise to Evil (Peshang), and in thy form resemblest those animals who walk with drooping heads, like wicked men who go about with bowed heads and extended hands. I will not, therefore, create the world by thee.’

” T o the letter Ayin, the initial of the word Avon (iniquity), though it claimed the origination of Anaya (Modesty), the Holy One said: `I shall not create the world by thee.’ And forthwith Ayin departed.

“S then went and pleaded: 1 am near (Samech) to the fallen ones, as it is written: The Lord upholdeth (soumekh) all them that fall. Thou must return, Samech, to thy place,' was the reply of the Holy One, and must not leave it; for if thou dost, what will become of the fallen, who will need and look to thee for aid and support?' Samech forthwith returned, and was followed by N, who said:Oh thou Holy One! that Thou mayest be venerated in praises (Nura tehillim), and also because the praise of the righteous will be a Nava (delight), let it please Thee to create the world by me.’ To whom He replied: `Nun, return thou to thy place with the fallen (Nephelim), for whose sake Samech hath gone back to her place, and lean for support upon her.’

“M then followed after, saying: Thou wilt by me be called Malech (king)."Truly so,'said He,but I will not, for all that, create the world by thee. Go back at once to thy place with thy companion letters, L and CH; for there must be a King, and for the world to be without one would not be seemly. At that moment CH descended from off the throne of light and splendor, exclaiming; I am thy glory, create the world by me.' As it stood trembling with excitement before the Holy One, two hundred thousand worlds together with the throne itself were seized with a sudden tremor and seemed ready to fall.Caph, Caph!’ cried the Holy One, `what hast thou done? I will not create the world by thee, for thou beginnest Chala (ruin, loss). Return at once to thy place on the throne of glory and abide there!’ Then Caph retired and went back to its place.

 ” Y next appeared and claimed that being the initial letter in the divine name YHVH, it was the best for the work of creation. But the Holy One replied: `Let it suffice thee to be what THE COMPLETE GOLDEN DAWN SYSTEM OF MAGIC 28 thou art, chief letter in my name and foremost in all my designs, thou must remain where and as thou art!’

Then came T and spake before the Eternal One: Create the world by me, for in me alone is thy goodness (Tobh) and uprightness, for attributes of Thee."I will not, Oh Teth,'replied the Holy One,use thee in the creation of the world, because the goodness within thee is hidden and concealed from sight as it is written, How great is Thy goodness which Thou hidest from them that fear Thee.' Seeing thou wilt remain invisible to the world I am about to create, and furthermore because of the goodness hidden within thee, the gates of the temple will sink into the earth as it is written,Her gates are sunk into the ground,’ and besides all this, thou with thy comrade the letter Cheth (CH) composed sin. Therefore, these letters will never enter in the names of the twelve holy tribes. On hearing these words Ch went not before the Holy One, but returned at once to its place.

 “Z then went up and urged its claim, saying: Thy children will through me keep the Sabbath, as it is written: Remember (Zecor) the Sabbath to keep it holy. Thou, Oh Zain,' replied the Holy one,art of too warlike a form, resembling as thou dost a spear. I cannot use thee in the creation of the world.’

When Z heard this decision, like N it retired and gave place to V, who said: I am a letter in thy Holy name.' The Eternal One answered and said,remain contented, Oh V that together with H you are in the great name. I shall not choose you by whom to create the world.’

” D . accompanied by G, went before the Divine Presence. To them it was said, `Let it suffice you, that so long as you are conjoined and associated, there will always be the poor on the earth who will need succor and help. Daleth (D) – poverty and Gimel (G) – help or the benefactor. Therefore both of you keep together, the one helping the other.'(In the Hebrew alphabet G and D are successive letters).

“Then came B and said : Create the world by me, because I am the initial letter of Beracha (blessing) and through me all will bless thee, both in the world above as in the world below. "Truly, Oh B,' said the Holy One,I will surely create the world by thee only.’

“Hearing these words, A remained in its place and went not into the Divine Presence, who therefore exclaimed Aleph (A) Aleph! why comest thou not before me as all the other letters'?' Then replied A:Lord and sovereign of the universe, it is because I have observed that (B excepted) they have returned as they went, without success. Why therefore, should I come before thee, since thou hast already given B the great and precious gift we all of us craved and desired. Moreover, it becometh not the monarch of the universe to withdraw and take back his presents from one subject and give them to another.’ To these words, the Holy One responded: `Aleph, Aleph! Thou shalt be the first of all letters and my unity shall be symbolized only by thee. In all conceptions and ideas human or divine, in every act and deed begun, carried on and completed, in all of them shalt thou be the first, the beginning.’

“Therefore did the Holy One make the letters of the celestial alphabet, capitals, and those of the earthly, small, each corresponding to one another. Therefore also the Book of Genesis begins with two words whose initials are B, viz/ : Berashith Bara (in the beginning VOLUME ONE 29 created) followed by two others, whose initials are A, viz.,Alhim ath (God, the substance of) to show that the letters of these alphabets celestial and earthly are one and the same by which every creature and thing in the universe has been formed and produced.”

An Arch of Ba’al With Shadowy Ties to New World Order May Be Messiah’s End-of-Days Gateway

A pagan arch erected in Italy one month before the meeting of the world’s most powerful leaders in the same country may be the portal whose opening could usher in the age of the Messiah – or a sinister World Order, a prominent rabbi has claimed.

The rabbi believes that the two events – the unveiling last month of a replica of the Palmyra Arch, a symbol of paganism and idol worship, and the recent G7 summit, representing the coming together of world powers – are deeply and troublingly connected.

“This arch brings together all the necessary elements for the New World Order,” explained Rabbi Daniel Assur, a member of the nascent Sanhedrin, to Breaking Israel News. “If you look at where this arch has appeared, it is clearly a pattern moving towards a specific goal: Messiah. The question is, whose Messiah will it be?”

The structure is a reproduction of a Roman victory arch built in Palmyra, Syria at the end of the second century CE. Originally it stood in front of a Roman temple where pagans worshiped the Mesopotamian god, Bel, also known as Ba’al, in a form of idol worship that figures prominently in the Bible. The original arch was destroyed by the Islamic State (ISIS) in 2015, but one year later, the Institute for Digital Archaeology used 3-D printing technology to reproduce a 20-foot full-scale replica.

The reproduction, which has traveled around the world to grace a number of events – each related to a concentration of global world power – was erected in Florence, Italy, one month ago as part of the first-ever Cultural Summit of the G7. This meeting was a prelude to the annual summit that brings together the leaders of the world’s seven major advanced economies. The seven entities, representing more than 64 percent of the net global wealth, came together last Friday in Taormina, Italy.

Rabbi Assur explained that this connection to Ba’al was essential to the New World Order, and was therefore necessary to elements in the G7 seeking world domination.

“The New World Order is not a secular, atheist movement,” explained Rabbi Assur. “They combine worship of Ba’al with worship of the Egyptian god, Isis, and also the true name of God. They need to bring together all of these elements.”

Rabbi Assur added that changes within Christianity, specifically Catholicism, are part of the battle against the New World Order. This was one of his motives for participating in the Sanhedrin’s trial against Pope Francis in 2015.

“The culture of paganic Rome is taking over Christianity,” he argued. “Christianity must be taken back from Roman culture, which is paganism.”

The arch, originally reconstructed for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Heritage week in England, also relates to the New World Order’s designs on the Holy Temple and the name of the Jewish God, the rabbi said.

“UNESCO, as part of the New World Order, has to usurp the true name of God,” Rabbi Assur explained. “It is towards this end that UNESCO is working towards changing the name and history of the Temple Mount, in order to control the original name of the Jewish God. That is why they made the most absurd claims about the holy places in Israel, but the power of the New World Order is real, so they were successful, despite their obvious lies.”

Rabbi Assur said that the arch’s role in bringing the Messiah was explicitly described in the Talmud, Tractate Sanhedrin (78a).

The disciples of Rabbi Yossi the son of Kisma questioned him, asking when the son of David (the Messiah) will appear. And he answered: I am afraid you will request from me a sign as well. And they assured him that they would not. He then said to them: When this gate will fall, be rebuilt and fall again, be rebuilt again and fall again. And before it will be rebuilt for the third time the Messiah will appear.

Revered Jewish scholar Rashi, a medieval rabbi who authored a canonical commentary on the Torah, wrote that the arch mentioned by Rabbi Yossi was “a Roman arch in a Roman city”.

Rabbi Assur explained that when the Talmud describes the gate falling, it is not referring to an intentional act of deconstruction, but to the powers of evil triumphing over those who serve the true God, symbolized by the Arch of Palmyra.

“There is no question that the arch is the portal for a new world that the Talmud is speaking about. If the New World Order succeeds, then they will rule, God forbid,” Rabbi Assur said. “But if the Moshiach ben David (Messiah from the House of David) comes through the portal, he will rule over them, over the New World Order.”

The first modern reappearance of the Arch of Palmyra was in London’s Trafalgar Square in April 2016, when it was rected for(UNESCO) World Heritage Week. The unveiling coincided with the beginning of a 13-day period known in the occult as “the Blood Sacrifice to the Beast”, the most important holiday for those who worship the god Ba’al, celebrated with child sacrifice and bisexual orgies.

In February, the arch was assembled again as the centerpiece for the World Government Summit in Dubai, an international meeting of global leaders to discuss policy.
